Compatibility and installation
Will SideLights fit my bike or scooter?
SideLights is compatible under two conditions:
- The internal diameter (the opening in the handlebar) is between 15 mm and 22 mm over a length of 12 cm.
- The handlebar’s angle towards the rider (backsweep) does not exceed 25°.
I often knock my handlebar, for example against a wall. Is SideLights strong enough?
Yes! The SideLights body is made from aluminium, with replaceable cushioning pads for better shock absorption. This provides long-term impact resistance, even in tough conditions.
I’m worried about theft. Is the system secure?
Once installed, SideLights is secured inside the handlebar with a tool. It cannot be removed by hand. The removable batteries are concealed and serve no purpose outside the product.
Do I need new grips to install SideLights?
If your current grips allow access to the inside of the handlebar, you can keep them. If their ends cannot be opened, you will need to replace them. We also offer SideLights grips designed for a precise fit.
Is SideLights compatible with a rear-view mirror?
SideLights works with mirrors that do not fit inside the handlebar. We also offer a SideLights mirror designed to fit our products.
How do I install SideLights?
SideLights is designed for simple, intuitive installation. See our user guide. If you have trouble fitting it, email info@sidelights.com.
Do I need tools to install SideLights?
No special tools are needed to install the product on your bike. Everything you need is included in the box.
How do I charge SideLights?
SideLights makes charging simple: the interchangeable batteries are easy to remove from the secured main body. Charge them via USB-C. You can also buy additional batteries.
How can I maximise battery lifespan?
For optimum lifespan, store batteries in a cool, dry place, with 60–70% charge during extended storage. We recommend charging them at least once a month.

What makes SideLights different from conventional bike lights?
SideLights provides 360° visibility across your full width. Turn indicators accompany your changes of direction and increase your visibility when turning.
Can I use SideLights Beam as my main headlight in complete darkness?
Yes! SideLights Beam has powerful dual front lights delivering up to 500 lumens, giving you a clear view of the road even in complete darkness.
Will I be visible? How many lumens do the lights have?
SideLights provides 360° visibility through integrated front, side and rear lights.
Maximum light output:
- Front beam up to 500 lumens
- 360° position lights up to 200 lumens
Integrated indicators increase visibility when turning.
Can SideLights replace conventional front and rear lights?
SideLights can replace your existing lighting system or be used as additional lighting. Always follow the road rules in your country and for your type of bike.
How do I activate the indicators?
There is a simple interaction button on each side. You do not need to lift your hand from the grip: a single press while holding the handlebar activates the indicator.
How do I check the battery level and lighting mode?
Built-in status LEDs show the battery level and selected lighting mode. Switch between low beam (150 lm) and high beam (500 lm) using the interaction button.
Do the left and right SideLights work together?
The left and right units operate independently. Settings for lighting mode and indicators must be applied on each side.
Does SideLights comply with road regulations?
SideLights improves your active visibility and your ability to signal intentions, but local bicycle-lighting rules still apply. Always check the regulations for your country and type of bike.
Do indicators replace hand signals when turning?
Although our indicators improve your visibility when turning, we still recommend using hand signals.
Delivery and returns
How long does delivery take?
Average delivery time is 5–7 working days.
What is your return policy if the product is not right for me?
Your satisfaction is our priority. You have 30 days to return unopened, unused products for a refund. For questions about an opened product, contact our customer service so we can find the best solution together.
Who delivers my order, and when?
Your order is delivered by your local postal service, according to its delivery arrangements.
I entered the wrong delivery address. What should I do?
If your order has not yet been dispatched, contact us immediately and we will update your details. Once an order has left our warehouse, changes are no longer possible, in accordance with our terms of sale.
What happens if nobody is home?
Small items will be left in your mailbox if they fit. Otherwise, your parcel will be left at your post office for collection.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept bank cards and PayPal. We do not accept cheques, bank transfers or payment on delivery.
Is your website secure?
This site is 100% secure. In fact, we could even say 300%.
